WHEC.com A plan by the governor to put a tax on sugar has one local grocer taking up a fight. Dale Vance of Hegedorn’s Supermarket in Webster is calling on the public to support the senate and assembly in their opposition to Paterson’s soda tax. Under the plan, sugary drinks will likely cost more as manufacturers pass along the 10-percent tax they will have to pay.
