Owners of Hegedorn’s supermarket worried the tax may not be dead.

Owners  of a local supermarket are trying to gear up for the possibility of a new tax on soda.

Governor Paterson  had originally proposed a one penny per ounce tax on soda and certain sugary fruit drinks. The idea was to reduce obesity and reduce the incidence of related illnesses, and also to raise about a billion dollars for New York’s cash strapped budget.
